Bio

Hello everyone!  My name is Lydia Ellis.  I am so happy to be your 10th Grade Academy Facilitator this year:)  I live in Troy, Alabama with my husband Matt, my daughter Gracie, and my son Jack Riley.

Here's a little about my education background.  I went to Straughn High School near Andalusia, Alabama.  When I graduated, I received a scholarship to Troy University, so I packed up and started my adventures in Troy.  While at Troy, I was able to study in Guadalajara, Mexico.  It was so much fun!  After graduating from Troy, I got my first teaching position at Pike County High School.  I loved it so much I stayed for 10 years!  While at PCHS, I attended graduate school at the University of Alabama and earned my Master's in Library and Information Science.  If you need a book recommendation I'm your girl!  After Matt and I had our first child, Gracie, I decided to be a stay at home mom and teach with ACCESS.  It was a wonderful 5 years that included a special addition to our family named Jack Riley! As of 2021, I teach at the Pike County Schools Center for Advanced Academics and Accelerated Learning in Troy, Alabama.

Here's a little about me.  I LOVE reading.  Seriously.  I average about a book a week.  My favorite genres are fantasy and fairytales.  However, I'll read ALMOST anything once.  I also really enjoy walking with my other stay at home mom friends at the Troy Rec Center.  They have an AWESOME walking trail there.  My other interests include gardening, decorating, and cooking healthy food.

If you need anything, please don't be nervous to ask, email, or message me :)
