The Health Information Technology (HIT) Academy through the Pike County School System, in partnership with Enterprise State Community College, is an exciting program designed to prepare students for careers in medical offices focusing on skills like: medical coding and billing, records maintenance, insurance filing, and medical office management.

This field is an identified shortage area throughout the United States. Students prepared to work in Health Information Technology (HIT) will have a bright career outlook (U.S. Dept. of Labor, 2016).

The seniors of 2019 were the first graduates to graduate with an Advanced High School Diploma and an Associate in Health Information Technology Degree.
